Meet the Staff

Cheryl – Owner/Instructor

Cheryl started Illinois Elite in 2012. She has training and degrees in USA Gymnastics Training and Certification (1987-1990), Massage Therapy Certification (2010), and Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP) 2014. She has been coaching tumbling and gymnastics for 30 years. She started her experience in ballet, tap, and jazz for 12 years, and 4 years gymnastics. She started tumbling when she was 4 years old and competed in USTA for 6 years, traveling throughout the nation in National Competitions. Cheryl is certified in CPR, First Aid, USA Gymnastics Safety, Kinder Accreditation for Teachers, USAG Level 1 and 2 coaching.

Tony -Coach

Tony graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelors in Physical Education. He learned gymnastics through his daughter Cheryl. He coached tumbling and gymnastics for 40 years.  In 1976 he took over a gym in Peru and coached tumbling which turned into gymnastics. He was the President of USTA (United States Tumbling Association) 1978-1983. He is certified in USA Gymnastics Safety, Level 1 – 3 Coaching, CPR, and First aid. He coached many sports, but has found that Gymnastics is the most challenging to coach and the learning capacity is endless!

Morgan – USAG Safety Certified Instructor

Morgan joined the Illinois Elite Gymnastics family in July 2016. She is one of IEG’s USGA Safety Certified coaches. Morgan is a graduate of LP High School. She has multiple years of experience in cheer, gymnastics, and dance.

Alyssa – USAG Safety Certified Instructor

Alyssa has been with Illinois Elite since 2014 and is USGA Safety Certified. She has years of experience with coaching along with competitive and high school cheerleading. She is currently attending ISU for a degree in Community Health Promotion and a minor in Spanish.

Hannah – Office/Media Manager

Hannah is a graduate of Illinois State University with a major in Ag-business. She has worked for Illinois Elite Gymnastics since August 2013, bringing years of dance and tumbling skills with her as well as office managment and graphic design.

Mallory – Instructor

Originally a student at Illinois Elite, Mallory joined the staff in 2016. She has multiple years of training in dance, gymnastics, and cheer. In addition to gymnastics, Mallory plays basketball, softball, and volleyball.

Lexi – Instructor

Lexi is a student and cheerleader at LaSalle-Peru High School. With 10 years of tumbling and cheer experience, Lexi is a valued member of the Illinois Elite Gymnastics family. She is trained and certified in CPR and first-aid.

Eva– Instructor

Eva is a college student currently majoring in psychology. She joined the Elite team in_____. Eva has experience in dance, gymnastics and cheer. She loves working with kids and enjoys bike riding and hiking.

Ellynn – Instructor

Ellyn started coaching with Illinois Elite in August 2018. She has years of experience with in gymnastics and cheerleading and is CPR certified.

Madison – Instructor

Madison joined the Illinois Elite Gymnastics family in October of 2018. As a previous student, Madison brings, 3 years of tumbling, 15 years of dance and 7 years of cheerleading to the gymnastics studio. She is CPR and First Aid certified. She loves spending time with  friends and family and doing yoga.

Samantha – Instructor


Sam is a student at Illinois Valley Community College studying early childhood education. She has background in cheerleading and tumbling and is certified in CPR and BLS. Outside of the gymnastics studio, Sam is also an archery instructor.
